Migrant Crisis Presents Multiple Economic Challenges

This year’s migrant crisis has sparked moral and economic questions for Europe, prompting some countries (most notably Germany) to accept foreign refugees from Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq. There are many challenges for foreign-born workers. Sweden, for example, has a large gap between the employment rates of its native workforce and those of foreign extraction. Providing training to compete in often highly-skilled industries is necessary.
